Anything Without A New Transmog
Let’s just focus on what’s important in game, which is the fine art of changing into something else.Back in the day, players would look everywhere for that one piece of gear that would finish off their look. Today, when you salvage a piece of gear in Diablo 4, you also save the transmog for later use.
Not every item, though, has a transmogrification effect, which is a reason not to rescue it unless it has rare materials or a Legendary Aspect that can be taken out and used somewhere else. Gear that doesn’t have a new transmog should always be sold, unless it’s good enough to wear and sell later.
Everything Of Magic Quality In The Early Levels
Players might not sell every piece, but there is so much of it that it might be a waste to try to sell it all, especially if the character needs gold. Some players will find this sooner than others because they like to go off the beaten path and explore basements and mini-dungeons. However, most of it is best sold to a vendor no matter what.
It’s up to the player to get as much as they can out of this pile of blue shiny things. On the other hand, these are lower-level materials that either can’t be used later or need to be polished at higher levels, which the player has to pay a vendor to do. It would be better to sell them.
Items Unsuited To Character Build
In Diablo 4, there are so many different kinds of trash that Tunnel Rush players have to sort through. Sometimes, they’ll find a high-level item that their class can use and that has some good buffs, but it doesn’t fit their unique Skill Tree build.
Legendary and Rare things usually cost more than other items, and they can be sold for more than their salvage value. If there is no transmog, rare materials, or Aspect to salvage, this item would be great to sell to a dealer.
Any Gear The Character Can’t Equip
When it comes to protection and weapons, the Diablo games have always kept things simple, and Diablo 4 stays true to this. There are some things that only certain groups can use, but there are also some at higher levels.
But there are still times when players find something good for a different class. The elements from these items may be useful, but there won’t be a way to change them, which makes them a great item to sell.
Whatever, Just Need Bag Space
Most of the time, selling something to a seller is done for the most basic and oldest reason of all. The character’s inventory is full, and there are no NPCs close who could repair or improve gear.
Players in Diablo 4 have so little inventory room that sometimes everything is perfect for the vendor. There are small towns in the wilderness that don’t have blacksmiths or jeweler. So everything goes to the seller closest to them just to make room in their bags.
Stuff From The Obol Vendor
By the time the character has enough Obols to go to this seller. They already have better gear than what they are selling. Depending on where the vendor is, the things are usually never better than Rare quality and the bonuses and buffs aren’t very unique.
Laundering Obols into gold is one way to make them less useless as money. You can buy things from the Mysterius Items vendor and then sell them to the standard armor vendor. You could also try to salvage them in case you need some of the ingredients for an upgrade.
Anything Worth More Than 100,000 Gold
Check out all those 0s! When a game costs as much as the character makes. It’s tempting to put that money in the bank and get as many of those early upgrades as possible. This isn’t a hard-and-fast rule, though, especially if the thing fits the character’s build or style.
This is another situation where recovering might be better than selling. For an item to be worth this much, it would have to be at least Legendary quality. And it would also have to be made of rare and valuable elements. Unless the character needs something right away, though. It’s better to just sell it to a seller and not worry about repair bills for a couple of days.
